Krakow-based opportunity with hybrid work model, allowing up to 2 remote days per week.

As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will be working for our client, a major player in banking technology modernization. You will contribute to the Hilda 2.0 program — a critical initiative migrating legacy applications to a modular, Azure-based architecture supporting Israeli regulatory reporting. Your role is instrumental in driving automation excellence, ensuring high quality and reliability as the platform evolves.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Own and refine the automated testing framework across the portfolio — including design standards, tooling, and best practices.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies covering unit, API, integration, and end-to-end testing layers.
  • Build and maintain automation scripts with Playwright for React frontends, and backend tests using xUnit (.NET) and Vitest/Jest.
  • Seamlessly integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, optimizing for speed, reliability, and thoroughness.
  • Promote good testing practices — testability, coverage, assertions — and manage test data for robust scenarios.
  • Validate data flows across Azure SQL, DWH, and other layers through data-driven testing, ensuring end-to-end integrity.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, manage flaky tests, and improve overall test suite reliability; share quality metrics with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with developers on acceptance criteria, review test code, and provide mentorship on testability.
  • Support UAT activities — environment preparation, execution, and documentation of results.

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in test automation, with a strong track record in framework development.
  • Proficiency in C# / .NET, with the ability to read, write, and debug production-quality code.
  • Strong JavaScript / TypeScript skills for automation purposes.
  • Hands-on expertise with Playwright (or Selenium ready to transition).
  • Practical knowledge of xUnit / NUnit, Vitest / Jest for unit and integration testing.
  • Experience integrating automation into Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid SQL skills, particularly with MSSQL or Azure SQL, including test data setup and validation.
  • Familiarity with REST API testing, including contract validation and authentication flows.
  • Highly autonomous, proactive, and able to set automation standards and roadmaps.
  • Good Git practices, code review discipline, and maintainable test code development.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (B2+ level).

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Azure services familiarity (App Service, Key Vault, Functions).
  • Experience with Power BI, DAX, or SSRS report testing.
  • Knowledge of contract testing (Pact), OpenAPI validation, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
  • Monitoring and observability tools like Application Insights, OpenTelemetry, Serilog.
  • ISTQB or Azure/test automation certifications.

Language Required for the role:

  • Communicative English proficiency (B2+ level).

Eligibility to work in Europe:

  • Only candidates with an existing legal right to work in the European Union will be considered for this role.
