The role

At Soho House a Runner is responsible for a range of tasks including preparing tables, serving orders, explaining meals, and facilitating collaboration between kitchen and servers. A Runner also assists the servers in providing quality hand plated service to all guests who come to Soho House. As a Food Runner, your goal will be to provide members and guests with outstanding customer service and actively help improve their overall dining experience.

A successful Runner thrives in a fast-paced environment, can problem solve in high-pressure situations and remain calm, approachable and professional.

Main Duties

  • Follow Steps of Service including refilling water glasses and coffee cups, clearing finished dishes, replenishing table supplies, and expediting food orders
  • Accommodate guest special requests or escalate to management when needed
  • Support seamless service delivery in a high-volume environment by anticipating guest needs and supporting servers, Executive Chef and General Manager
  • Ensure food orders are plated and coursed correctly before serving guests
  • Follow health and safety policies, allergy procedures, and company standards
  • Support team operations by running food and drinks from expo and service bar areas
  • Clean and stock server alley and expo area
  • Maintain menu knowledge and provide recommendations to guests

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role
