Job Duties

  • Provide excellent timely client service, deliver high quality work, and foster client relationships.
  • Assist in design and implementation of the internal control framework; identifying risks and corresponding key controls surrounding internal controls over financial reporting with expert knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act, including provisions for Sections 404(a) and 404(b), and methodologies for achieving and maintaining compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Collaborate with process owners to create process narratives, risk and control matrices and flowcharts, and ensure documentation is kept up-to-date for scoping, testing, and remediation activities.
  • Lead process walkthroughs, inquiries with management, develop probing questions, identify relevant control testing attributes and evaluate, synthesize, organize and interpret data and information to conclude on design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
  • Identify control deficiencies and develop actionable solutions leveraging prior experience and leading practices.
  • Assist with project management activities including status tracking, reporting, and oversight of off-shore delivery teams.
  • Demonstrate clear and concise writing and verbal skills to communicate complex issues in simple terms to clients and team members.
  • Improve technical and project management skills through mentoring, feedback, and formal training programs including monthly CPE and SME training.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and intermediary between clients and auditors while responding promptly to client needs.
  • Balance competing priorities effectively to maintain project progress.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Business Administration, Finance, or closely related field and 2 years of related work experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act including Sections 404(a) and 404(b).
  • Experience with risk assessment, process scoping, financial statement review, control evaluation, testing, and risk and control matrix preparation.
  • Expertise in walkthroughs, inquiry interviews, and documenting processes using MS Visio.
  • Experience evaluating and testing internal controls and improving business processes.
  • Ability to oversee audit and advisory projects and communicate remediation recommendations.
  • Collaboration with leadership, auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders to meet deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with AuditBoard, Canvas, Workiva, and MS Visio.
  • Knowledge of IT general controls and IT application controls.
  • Big 4 audit experience with PCAOB Standards, US GAAS, and Government Auditing Standards.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple geographies and time zones.
