Own product design for an early-stage, data-dense platform built for regulated enterprises.

We are hiring a Design Lead to own product design for a perimeter-safe data lineage and migration impact-analysis platform for regulated enterprises. This is a real, working product becoming a standalone business. This is a build.

This is not a pure UI/UX role. You will think like a product manager, start from the customer problem, help shape what we build and why, and make complex technical information clear and trustworthy.

Quick Facts

  • Early-stage, standalone product build
  • Focus on regulated enterprises
  • Data lineage and migration impact-analysis platform

What You'll Work On

  • Own the end-to-end product design vision for a data-dense enterprise platform.
  • Translate complex lineage, migration impact, governance, and blast-radius workflows into clear, navigable product experiences.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define what gets built, for whom, and why.
  • Design for two audiences at once: technical users who need depth and senior stakeholders who need confidence in decisions.
  • Build and maintain the design system, set the quality bar, and create repeatable standards for future product surfaces.
  • Run user discovery and research; turn what you learn into product direction, design decisions, and prioritization input.
  • Use AI across the design workflow, including research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, iteration, and productivity.

What You'll Bring

  • Senior or lead-level product design experience in enterprise, B2B SaaS, or similarly complex product environments.
  • Strong product thinking; experience influencing what gets built and why.
  • Portfolio featuring complex, data-dense interfaces such as dashboards, graphs, visualizations, technical workflows, or enterprise tools.
  • Strong information-design and data-visualization instincts.
  • End-to-end ownership of a design system, from components and standards through adoption and maintenance.
  • Experience working directly with product and engineering teams from zero to shipped.
  • Experience building a design function, practice, or product design standard from scratch.
  • AI fluency with concrete examples of impact in real design work.

How You Work

  • Customer-problem first mindset.
  • Player-coach approach: hands-on while setting quality standards.

  • Product experience makes complex lineage and impact information easier to understand, trust, and act on.
  • Clear design vision and practical design system adopted by the team.
  • User research informs product decisions.
  • Trusted partnership with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders as the platform matures.

Additional Requirements

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available.
  • Candidates must reside in one of the specified U.S. states to be eligible for consideration.

🏢 Summary: Lead UI/UX Designer role owning end-to-end product design, visual language, and design system for a learning and research product. You will turn ambiguous problems into clear UX flows and high-fidelity UI, collaborating closely with engineering to ship polished experiences. The role combines product design, brand identity, and rapid user validation with full ownership of quality and craft. 🗂️ Requirements: Proven experience in end-to-end UI/UX design for digital products, Ability to create UX flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI, Experience defining and scaling design systems with components and variants, Proficiency in Figma for auto-layout, prototyping, and system management, Experience collaborating closely with engineering for production handoff, Ability to conduct lightweight user research and rapid validation, Strong understanding of HCI principles and interaction design, Ability to define and maintain cohesive brand identity across product surfaces 📃 Skills: Figma, UX, UI, Prototyping, Wireframing, DesignSystems, Typography, Illustration, Branding, HCI, InteractionDesign, AutoLayout, UserResearch 🏢 Description: ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for an expert UI/UX designer with outstanding taste and a bias for shipping to lead every visual and brand aspect of our product — from the core design system down to the last pixel. This is not a "pure artist" role. You'll work in a tight product team, iterate fast, and make hard trade-offs when reality demands it. You'll own the visual language of a product used by people who care deeply about learning and research. The expectation is high — you define what good looks like, and you hold that bar as the product grows. WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON Core product journeys Own end-to-end design for the most important product experiences — search and discovery, reading, notes, and collaboration. Turn ambiguous problems into clear UX flows, prototypes, and shippable UI. Design system Define and evolve the design system — components, variants, states — so the team can move fast without quality regressions as features multiply. Craft and details Raise the bar on hierarchy, interaction, motion, and micro-details so the product feels inevitable rather than assembled. Engineering collaboration Work in a tight shipping loop with engineering to land high-fidelity designs in production exactly as intended. User research Run lightweight user research and rapid validation when it meaningfully reduces risk — not as a process, but as a tool. Brand coherence Keep brand and marketing surfaces coherent with the product — visual language, typography, and key visuals. WHAT WE LOOK FOR Elite communication You set expectations accurately and live up to them. No surprises on timelines, scope, or quality. Deep resilience Feedback cycles, tight deadlines, tough discussions — you have a large buffer before stress impacts your output. No ego Your work gets better through collaboration. We're here to build something great, not to manage insecurities. Product mastery You understand what makes great software feel inevitable — clarity, hierarchy, consistency, motion, copy, and details. You've studied the best and can articulate why it works. Brand instinct You can define a visual identity that feels premium, coherent, and distinctly ours — and keep it consistent as the product scales. HCI fascination Deeply interested in human-computer interaction. Actively exploring AI-native interfaces and new interaction primitives that feel intuitive, not bolted on. Bonus Ex-founder experience. DESIGN STACK Figma for components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping, and design systems. Brand identity, guidelines, typography, colour, and illustration. Close collaboration with engineering for production handoff. Lightweight user research and validation. The stack isn't fixed — outcomes matter more than tools. DESIGN CULTURE Radical ownership You own the visual language and the bar. You decide what good looks like — and you're accountable for it. Ruthless simplicity We delete, simplify, and reduce. Every element must earn its place. Fast iteration Polished does not mean slow. We prototype, test, and refine quickly. Direct feedback Feedback is blunt, concise, and respectful. No politics. RECRUITMENT PROCESS Recruiter screening — a short intro call. 1-on-1 with the founder — a conversation about how you think and design. Design challenge (~2 hours) — onboard to the product, review what's working and what isn't, record a Loom and send it over. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary $90,000 – $120,000 depending on experience. Equity and profit share Core team members receive both equity and profit share as part of the compensation package. Unlimited PTO Use your own judgement — we won't count days. Real ownership No managers capping your authority. You own your work end-to-end, with the full trust of the team behind you.

We are building technology that helps businesses create fully personalized, AI-driven customer experiences at scale. Our platform combines data, analytics, automation, recommendations and AI to help companies better understand customer behavior and act on it in real time. We work with leading brands across Retail, Banking, eCommerce, Automotive, Insurance and Telco, operating in more than 30 markets and processing over 150 billion transactions annually. But we do not stop there. We are also building BaseModel.ai — a foundation model for behavioral data and a platform for enterprise Data Science teams. It is another step in our mission to turn complex behavioral data into practical, business-ready intelligence. To support this vision, we are looking for a Product Designer who can help us design complex, intelligent and highly usable products for business users. About the role As a Product Designer at Synerise, you will work on advanced SaaS products used by marketers, analysts, data teams and enterprise clients. This is not a role focused only on producing screens. We are looking for someone who can understand complex problems, structure ambiguity, explore different solution directions and take responsibility for the quality of the user experience. You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, UX Researchers and other Designers to turn product challenges into clear, useful and scalable interfaces. A big part of this role is independent problem-solving . We expect you to be able to move from a vague business or user need to a well-thought-out design proposal: by asking the right questions, analyzing context, challenging assumptions and creatively exploring solutions. We also expect AI tools to be a natural part of your design workflow. You do not need to use one specific tool, but you should be open to using AI to support research, ideation, analysis, prototyping, writing, synthesis or design exploration. Experience with AI-assisted design workflows will be a strong advantage. What will you do on a daily basis? Lead the design process in your product area: from discovery and problem framing to ideation, prototyping, validation and high-fidelity design. Translate complex product requirements into clear, intuitive and scalable user experiences. Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to define solutions that are valuable for users, feasible to build and aligned with business goals. Independently investigate product problems, identify opportunities and propose improvements instead of waiting for ready-made briefs. Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, interaction models and final UI designs. Work with UX Researchers to turn qualitative and quantitative insights into better product decisions. Use AI tools as part of your design workflow to speed up exploration, support research, structure ideas, generate alternatives or improve communication. Contribute to the development and adoption of our Design System. Take ownership of user experience quality in your area of the product. Communicate design decisions clearly to stakeholders and development teams. Share knowledge, methods and good practices with other designers and team members. What will make us a perfect match? At least 3 years of experience as a Product Designer, UX/UI Designer or similar. Experience designing large, complex digital products , preferably SaaS, B2B platforms, analytics tools, marketing tools, data products or enterprise software. A strong portfolio showing not only final screens, but also your thinking process, problem-solving approach and impact. Very good practical knowledge of Figma and modern product design workflows. Ability to work independently with ambiguous, complex problems. Strong analytical and creative thinking skills. Ability to explore multiple solution directions before choosing the best one. Strong sense of ownership, accountability and attention to quality. Good understanding of UX fundamentals: information architecture, interaction design, usability, accessibility and interface patterns. Ability to collaborate with Product, Engineering and Research. Good communication skills and openness to feedback. Willingness to use AI tools as part of your everyday design workflow. Curiosity and motivation to learn about AI, data, automation and complex product ecosystems. What will convince us even more? Experience working on one product for a longer period of time and improving it iteratively. Experience with Design Systems: creating components, documenting patterns or increasing adoption across teams. Experience validating designs using qualitative or quantitative methods. Experience designing products that involve AI, automation, recommendations, analytics, data visualization or complex workflows. Ability to run workshops, design reviews or discovery sessions. Experience working closely with developers and negotiating solution directions constructively. Experience using AI tools for research synthesis, ideation, copywriting, prototyping, competitive analysis, user-flow exploration or design critique. Good understanding of technical constraints and ability to discuss trade-offs with engineering teams. Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-moving environment. This role may be not for you if You prefer receiving very detailed briefs before starting design work. You are mainly interested in visual UI execution and do not enjoy product discovery or problem framing. You do not feel comfortable working with complex, technical or data-heavy products. You avoid discussions with engineers or product stakeholders. What can we provide for you? An opportunity to shape the reality by working in a fast-growing company, in the field of AI, BigData & Automation. Possibility to have real impact on promoting and raising awareness of Synerise solutions among potential customers, business partners and the industry community. Flat structure with ownership opportunities.
