Job Description

The Enterprise Architect (EA) sits within the Office of the CIO and acts as a strategic partner and advisor to business and technology teams. The role focuses on optimizing costs, mitigating risks, improving sustainability, and guiding the adoption of new and emerging technologies while expanding existing platforms to meet business goals.

Responsibilities include improving system architecture, optimizing business operations, and defining integration approaches for applications and programs. The EA is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing enterprise architecture models and standards to support organizational technology activities.

Enterprise Architect Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap aligned with banking business goals
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and risk frameworks (e.g., FFIEC, OCC, Basel, SOX, GDPR)
  • Lead architecture governance, including standards, policies, and design reviews
  • Support digital transformation and modernization of legacy banking systems
  • Drive architecture for core banking, payments, lending, and digital banking channels
  • Oversee data architecture strategy, including governance, privacy, and lineage
  • Evaluate technologies focusing on security, resiliency, and risk reduction
  • Support cloud adoption strategies in line with regulatory and security requirements
  • Guide integration across on-prem and cloud systems (APIs, microservices, middleware)
  • Improve efficiency, reduce technical debt, and enhance customer experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 10+ years of IT experience, including financial services or banking
  • Enterprise architecture experience in a regulated environment
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF preferred)
  • Deep understanding of core banking systems, payments, and financial products
  • Experience with risk management, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience working with executives, regulators, and auditors

Preferred

  • TOGAF certification or equivalent
  • Digital banking transformation experience
  • Familiarity with fintech integrations and open banking (APIs, PSD2)
  • Knowledge of data platforms, analytics, and AI/ML in banking
  • Experience with DevSecOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Vendor risk management and third-party integration experience

Compensation

The expected annual salary ranges between $250,000 and $280,000, determined based on skills and experience. The total rewards package includes eligibility for annual bonus, comprehensive medical coverage, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous paid time off, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
