Technical Practice Lead – Engineering Transformation & Excellence

B2B | Krakow | 6 days/month | 1600 PLN+

A global organisation is building a new engineering excellence function and is seeking a Technical Practice Lead to drive large‑scale engineering transformation across software, data, operations, and infrastructure teams. You’ll help shape engineering standards, culture, and maturity for a global engineering community, working directly with senior leaders on high‑impact initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination of engineering transformation activities across multiple domains.

  • Assess engineering maturity, identify gaps, and support uplift plans with senior leadership.

  • Partner with HR/L&D to shape skills development, training, and career pathways.

  • Improve engineering hiring quality through collaboration with workforce planning teams.

  • Strengthen Communities of Practice and support Principal Engineers in driving best practice.

  • Champion adoption of engineering standards, DevEx improvements, and modern SDLC practices.

  • Use engineering and delivery data to generate insights and track transformation progress.

  • Experience in engineering transformation, continuous improvement, or technical coordination.

  • Strong engineering mindset with depth in at least one technical discipline.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with senior technical stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • 5+ years in engineering coordination, transformation, or infrastructure‑focused roles.

  • Familiarity with engineering maturity models and modern infrastructure components.
