Description

The Software Engineer will contribute to feature development within the Platform or Integration & Analysis EED program train, working under Senior and Principal engineers. The role focuses on building full-stack AWS and web development capabilities for mission-critical earth science data systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web application features using modern languages and frameworks (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java)

• Build and consume RESTful APIs for earth science data access and integration

• Use AWS cloud services (Lambda, S3, API Gateway) to deliver cloud-native solutions

• Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests to support CI/CD pipelines

• Participate in code reviews, bug fixes, and sprint deliverables in an Agile team

• Collaborate with Senior/Principal engineers on solutions aligned with program architecture and standards

• Participate in SAFe planning events (PI planning, sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, technical reviews)

• Collaborate with cross-functional multi-team Agile teams to deliver on schedule

• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline automation, code review, testing, and documentation per program standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

• Proficiency in at least one modern language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java)

• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs

• Familiarity with AWS cloud services

• Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows

• Agile/Scrum team experience
