Description

Provide virtual rheumatology consultations and follow-up care for patients supported by partner healthcare facilities. Manage conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, and other autoimmune/inflammatory diseases, including treatment management for biologics and DMARDs. Review laboratory results and imaging, submit eConsult recommendations, document encounters in the electronic health record, and collaborate with on-site teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual rheumatology consultations and follow-up appointments

• Evaluate and manage autoimmune and inflammatory conditions (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout)

• Monitor and manage biologic therapies and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs)

• Review labs, imaging, and relevant medical records

• Provide electronic consultations (eConsults) and clinical recommendations

• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the electronic health record

• Coordinate care with on-site clinical teams

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school

• Internal Medicine residency completed

• Rheumatology fellowship completed

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology

• Active California and/or Oregon medical license (or willingness to obtain the required state license[s])

• Prior telehealth experience preferred

• Comfortable providing virtual consultations and managing patients remotely
