Inpatient Psychiatrist (Locum Tenens)

Quick Facts

• Inpatient Psychiatry locum role with 7-on/7-off coverage
• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Approximately 1–2 nights of call during each 7-day rotation
• 24-bed inpatient psychiatric unit
• Adult and adolescent psychiatry exposure
• ER and general hospital psychiatric consultation responsibilities
• Support from APPs, social work, discharge, and intake teams
• Epic EMR; telemedicine may be used for certain consultations

Description

Provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care, including evaluation and treatment of inpatient psychiatric patients, adult and adolescent psychiatric care, emergency department psychiatric evaluations, and general hospital psychiatric consultations. Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary care teams and participate in the inpatient call rotation alongside another psychiatrist on an alternating 7-on/7-off schedule.

Requirements

• MD/DO with Psychiatry specialization
• Board Certified
• Strong inpatient psychiatry experience
• Comfortable treating all ages and diagnoses, including adolescent patients
• Comfortable participating in the 7-on/7-off rotation
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Ability to start one day prior to the scheduled rotation for full orientation
