Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Specialist to support organizational transformation in data management in a large financial organization. The role focuses on designing and implementing a federated Data Governance model, building a new collaboration model around data, and actively supporting adoption of changes through work with the business and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement a federated Data Governance model aligned with the data strategy and business needs

• Define, implement, and enforce data governance policies, standards, and processes

• Onboard employees and data area owners into new Data Governance roles and support them in executing assigned responsibilities

• Collaborate with the business and leadership to implement organizational changes related to the new data management model

• Build stakeholder relationships and effectively influence the organization’s approach to working with data

• Independently lead assigned areas with full accountability for outcomes

• Drive activities that build a data culture through communication, education, and community initiatives

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Governance or Data Management in a large, complex organization

• Experience in the banking sector

• Experience working with managerial-level stakeholders

• Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills

• Experience leading organizational transformation or operational change

• Ability to take independent ownership of a scope and deliver results

• High initiative and proactivity, with the ability to build collaboration across business, Data, and IT

• Independence, accountability, and goal orientation
