Quick Facts

  • Lead electrical system architecture for next-generation input devices
  • Own zero-to-one concepts through mass production readiness

Description

You will define the EE system architecture for next-generation input technologies, turning open-ended user experience goals into concrete hardware solutions. The role sits at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, and firmware/software engineering, requiring you to propose architectural concepts and co-design HW/FW interfaces to optimize latency and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and resolve complex system issues through failure analysis and root-cause investigations.

  • Drive zero-to-one architecture from blank-page concepts to proof-of-concept prototypes and toward mass production.

  • Act as a technical bridge across mechanical engineering and firmware teams to co-design, iterate, and optimize.

  • Independently identify technical bottlenecks and make trade-off decisions among performance, power, space, and cost.

  • Oversee integration of high-precision sensing, complex haptic actuation, and power management in tightly constrained form factors.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering (or related) with 7+ years of experience in hardware system design or electrical architecture
  • Strong EE fundamentals (E&M physics, first principles) with deep understanding of system architecture and design tradeoffs
  • Experience with schematic capture and component selection across power, digital, analog, high-speed, and wireless domains
  • Deep knowledge of low-speed and high-speed digital interfaces: I2C, I2S, SPI, USB, MIPI, PCIe, Thunderbolt
  • Experience with highly constrained multilayer PCBs (HDI, fine-pitch BGA) and rigid-flex designs (Allegro preferred)
  • Hands-on proficiency with advanced lab tools: high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, VNAs, BERT
  • Proven track record of taking complex systems from concept to mass production with tight collaboration across FW, SW, and ME teams

Benefits

Highly collaborative, high-impact role shaping the future of input devices for the Mac product line.
