Description

You will provide medical management, anesthesia, and airway support for patients undergoing open and endoscopic surgical and select medical/dental procedures. Responsibilities include pre- and post-operative consultation and evaluation, delivering general, regional, and neuraxial anesthesia, administering moderate sedation, and providing both acute and chronic pain management. You will also coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team and may supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency anesthesia and airway support across the medical center

• Perform general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and neuraxial anesthesia care

• Manage acute pain (e.g., caudal/brachial epidural or intrathecal injections)

• Manage chronic pain using nerve blocks (e.g., brachial plexus block, caudal/epidural/spinal blocks, diagnostic/therapeutic and neurolytic nerve blocks)

• Provide airway management including endotracheal intubation, emergency cricothyrotomy/retrograde intubation, fiberoptic laryngoscopy, and bronchoscopy

• Perform procedures including arterial line placement and central venous cannulation/pulmonary artery catheterization

• Administer moderate sedation

• Provide consultative services and develop rehabilitative treatments

• Direct/organize a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with other providers

• Supervise medical students, physician residents (including fellows)
