Description

Lead four or more personnel to perform general loading and off-loading of cargo aircraft and to restrain cargo using tie-down chains, straps, nets, and pallet rail mechanisms. Perform APEX Load Director pre-flight and post-flight duties and supervise loading/servicing tasks on military, commercial, and contract aircraft, including hazardous cargo handling and load planning using weight and balance. Operate required ground vehicles (gasoline, diesel, or electric) and follow technical orders, checklists, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an APEX Load Director and perform pre-flight/post-flight duties for the aircraft and mission.
• Lead a working crew of four or more aircraft freight loaders (civilian, military, and trainees) during loading and ground support.
• Load, off-load, and re-sequence aircraft freight as part of the load/servicing team.
• Operate gasoline, diesel, and electric vehicles used for ground support.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Complete APEX formal and hands-on training; obtain and maintain APEX certification on multiple aircraft types; complete annual web-based refresher and practical evaluation.
• Obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance.
• Possess firearms access/qualification requirements; pass federal firearm-related documentation requirements.
• Meet physical requirements including working at elevated heights (up to 237"), climbing stairs, and routine heavy lifting/carrying (45–79 pounds) while working in demanding positions.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings/weekends/holidays, and be available for emergency overtime.
• Pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing; may be required to receive occupational vaccinations.
• No disqualifying domestic violence convictions per federal Gun Control Act requirements.
