Description

The candidate will support an application team in an iterative development environment for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). The role involves reviewing project plans, participating in requirements and/or design review sessions, developing and testing application features per specifications and interfaces, and collaborating with technical leads and analysts. You will also provide status and deliverable estimates, proactively manage issues and risks, and troubleshoot inaccuracies or feasibility concerns.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand the application team’s work plan/project plan

• Participate in requirements and/or design review sessions

• Develop and test application functionality per project specifications and interfaces

• Collaborate with technical team members on design activities

• Provide work status and deliverable estimates to the Project Manager and/or Technical Lead

• Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks

• Resolve issues related to inaccuracies or feasibility

Requirements

• Ability to collaborate, negotiate, and take direction from supporting resources across business and/or functional lines

• Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including strong meeting and work session participation

• Excellent organizational skills with proven analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

• Proven troubleshooting experience

• Ability to design/code and troubleshoot/fix application or server-level functional and/or service-level issues (performance, scalability, security)

• Proven experience handling data conversion, including real-time and batch data integration: mapping, transformations, bulk import/export, mass updates, cutover planning, and exception handling

• Strong experience writing/debugging/tuning complex backend business logic
