Description

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will help build infrastructure that enables AI agents to operate safely in high-stakes, customer-controlled environments. This is an engineering internship with project ownership and hands-on mentorship, working on agentic workflows or the layers behind them (ontologies, context assembly, tool interfaces, identity/permissions, evaluations, and operational decision workflows). You will contribute to production-ready software for deploying, operating, evaluating, and monitoring AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Build production software to improve how AI systems are deployed, operated, evaluated, and monitored in customer-controlled environments

• Contribute to infrastructure for agentic workflows, including tool use, context assembly, permissions, execution safety, observability, and debugging

• Design and implement services, APIs, test harnesses, evaluation pipelines, or developer tools to make AI systems easier to operate

• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and customer-facing teams to turn real operational problems into durable software

• Debug issues across services, deployment systems, logs, configuration, permissions, and product behavior

• Write clear, maintainable code and participate in code review with a high bar for quality

• Communicate design decisions, tradeoffs, and results clearly to teammates

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or a similar technical field

• Demonstrated interest in AI systems and agentic applications

• Coding experience in Java, Python, C++, Go, Rust, JavaScript, or similar languages

• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, systems programming, backend services, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work full-time for the duration of the internship

• Active US Security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one, is beneficial but not required
