Description

Design, build, and maintain AWS-based integrations between Workday and internal/external systems across the HR, payroll, and workforce ecosystem. You will architect event-driven and API-based workflows, implement integration services and data transformation using Python, and provision infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code. You will also ensure secure, GDPR-compliant data exchange, monitoring, logging, and reliable production operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy scalable AWS integrations connecting HR, payroll, and workforce platforms (e.g., Workday, Deel, Greenhouse, and other third-party providers)

• Architect and maintain event-driven and API-based workflows using AWS services such as EventBridge, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Kubernetes, SQS, and S3

• Use Python to develop integration services, automation scripts, and data transformation/mapping logic

• Use Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) to provision and maintain cloud infrastructure

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Git and DevOps tools

• Build secure integration pipelines using OAuth 2.0, SFTP, certificate-based authentication, AWS KMS encryption, fine-grained access controls, and PII masking for GDPR compliance

• Add monitoring, logging, and error-handling for troubleshooting, data integrity, and reliable production operations

• Collaborate with HR, IT, and stakeholders to translate business processes into integration solutions

• Troubleshoot and optimize integration performance across development, testing, and production

• Provide technical guidance and best practices to other developers

Requirements

• Experience connecting diverse HR, ATS, payroll, and EOR systems (including Workday, Deel, Greenhouse)

• Strong grasp of employee lifecycle events, organizational structures, and payroll cutoffs

• Experience with API-based integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON/XML

• Experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices

• Experience with secure data exchange (SFTP, certificate management, encryption, API authentication)

• Strong communication skills across HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors

• Fluent in English (German welcome)
