Quick Facts

  • Role: FinOps Cloud Engineer

  • Focus: Multi-cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) infrastructure cost optimization and observability/logs cost analysis

Description

Join a project in the financial sector where you will optimize cloud infrastructure costs across a multi-cloud environment. You will combine cloud engineering, automation, and FinOps practices—especially around logging/monitoring/storage cost drivers and cost governance.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and implement opportunities to optimize cloud infrastructure costs in Azure, AWS, and GCP

  • Analyze logging, monitoring, and data storage costs to determine the main cost drivers

  • Optimize log ingestion, retention, routing, filtering, and sampling with security and compliance requirements

  • Design and implement automation and optimization mechanisms using Terraform, Python, Bash, and CI/CD tools

  • Prepare optimization proposals with cost-saving forecasts, cost/benefit analysis, and risk assessment

  • Implement changes according to governance, compliance, and change-management procedures, including rollback and validation plans

  • Support the evolution of cost allocation models, resource tagging, and showback/chargeback mechanisms

  • Define and maintain policies and control mechanisms (retention standards, service usage limits, budget alerts)

  • Monitor the impact of changes, report actual savings, and detect cost re-increases

  • Prepare reports and present cost, forecast, and risk recommendations to technical stakeholders and management

Requirements

  • Practical experience working with at least two cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), including native logging and monitoring services

  • Very strong knowledge of Azure: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Diagnostic Settings, Storage Accounts, Event Hubs, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Policy, Azure Cost Management

  • Knowledge of cost mechanisms and billing models (AWS CloudWatch Logs, S3 lifecycle, Cost Explorer/CUR; GCP Cloud Logging, Log Router/Sinks, BigQuery, Storage lifecycle policies, Billing exports)

  • Understanding of observability and logging architecture: ingestion, routing, retention, and data storage

  • Experience analyzing large volumes of log data, identifying cost drivers, and implementing optimizations with measurable savings

  • Ability to design, build, and deploy large-scale automation with Terraform, Python, and/or Bash

  • Experience with CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps) and Infrastructure as Code / policy-as-code approaches

  • Understanding of FinOps: cost allocation, showback/chargeback, optimization mechanisms, and cost governance in cloud

  • Experience preparing savings forecasts, business analyses, and optimization proposals including assumptions, expected effects, and potential risks

  • Knowledge of cloud governance and compliance

  • Ability to present technical analyses and recommendations and effectively communicate with senior technical stakeholders

  • English communication skills

Benefits

  • B2B contract cooperation

  • Hybrid model: 6 days per month from the Kraków office
