Description

You will extract, clean, and model large social media datasets (posts, hashtags, engagement) from platforms like TikTok and Reddit. You’ll build and maintain dbt models and data pipelines with automated data-quality tests, prototype pipelines and metrics for new data sources, and help map trend signals to business categories through taxonomy and categorisation. You’ll work independently on scoped deliverables, documenting in Jira and writing clean, reusable code; quick prototypes will be used to validate approaches with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Extract, clean, and model social media data from TikTok and other platforms

• Build and maintain dbt models and data pipelines with automated tests

• Prototype pipelines and metrics for new sources (starting with Reddit)

• Map trend signals to business categories using taxonomy and validation

• Deliver scoped work independently, documenting in Jira and writing reusable code

• Build quick prototypes to validate approaches with stakeholders

Requirements

• 2+ years in data engineering/analytics engineering/technical data analyst (5+ years for Senior)

• Hands-on, commercial experience with dbt (built and tested models yourself)

• Strong SQL (window functions, CTEs, deduplication, incremental logic)

• Strong Python for data work (API extraction, data cleaning, pipeline scripting)

• Cloud data warehouse experience; Snowflake preferred

• Git used in everyday work

• Comfortable working autonomously with limited onboarding

• Good English

• Uses AI coding tools and fully owns the output

Nice to Have

• Social media or web data experience (TikTok/Reddit/Instagram/X) or public APIs

• Airflow or similar orchestration

• Data Vault modelling

• Trend/signal analysis (growth metrics, anomaly/bot detection, sentiment)
