Description

You will configure, administer, and maintain production Campus LAN infrastructure based on Cisco Catalyst and Lancom. The role covers end-to-end lifecycle operations (deployment, change/update management, and retirement), including administration of VLAN, STP, StackWise, PoE, and NAC, as well as monitoring, incident support, and security-related activities like CVE/vulnerability assessment and log analysis.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Cisco Catalyst and Lancom Campus LAN environments

• Operate the production (RUN) environment across the solution lifecycle: implement new solutions, manage changes and updates, and retire infrastructure

• Administer Cisco Catalyst on IOS and IOS-XE, including VLAN, STP, StackWise, PoE, and NAC

• Manage network equipment lifecycle: device replacements and tracking End-of-Life/End-of-Support dates

• Coordinate firmware updates, maintenance windows, and Cisco Smart Licensing

• Support deployment and maintenance of Lancom infrastructure

• Handle incidents as 2nd/3rd line support and participate in Root Cause Analysis

• Support Major Incidents (Bridge Calls), collect diagnostic data, and execute Emergency Changes

• Coordinate Problem Management, document Known Errors, and define Workarounds

• Configure and optimize CheckMK monitoring (alert thresholds, reduce false alarms, correlate events)

• Monitor service and infrastructure availability; analyze uptime, MTBF, and MTTR

• Analyze logs and security events; support Security teams and handle Splunk-identified alerts

• Monitor capacity and performance (bandwidth, ports, CPU and memory utilization)

• Manage vulnerabilities: analyze CVEs, assess security patches, and coordinate remediation

• Support security incident handling, internal/external audits, and ISMS-related actions

• Manage licenses and maintain CMDB documentation (IP addressing, VLAN, VRF, device configuration)

• Identify opportunities for optimization and automation; contribute to Continual Service Improvement (CSI)

• Process Service Requests and Standard Changes in line with ITIL

• Create and update operational documentation, technical instructions, configuration standards, and maintenance procedures

• Collaborate with international teams and support less experienced specialists

Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of Campus LAN and hands-on experience administering and maintaining Cisco Catalyst environments

• Knowledge of Cisco IOS and IOS-XE plus VLAN, STP, StackWise, PoE, and NAC

• Cisco CCNA, CCNP Enterprise (or equivalent)

• Experience maintaining network infrastructure and delivering 2nd/3rd line technical support

• Experience managing network device lifecycle, firmware updates, and licensing

• Knowledge of ITIL processes, especially Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Knowledge, and Configuration Management

• Knowledge of Event, Availability, and Capacity Management

• Experience creating operational documentation, Knowledge Management, and maintaining a CMDB

• Network security knowledge: vulnerability management and handling Security Incidents

• Ability to analyze events and resolve complex network problems

• Ability to collaborate with international teams and share knowledge effectively

• Very good English for documentation and cross-team collaboration
