Description

Lead the technical direction for ML-driven tools and systems supporting game development, with an emphasis on Unreal Engine workflows, production pipelines, and developer productivity. You’ll collaborate with ML engineers and researchers to apply ML/AI where it creates practical value for internal tooling and game teams. The role includes technical leadership across teams (direction, standards, alignment, coaching) and people management.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction for ML-driven GameDev tools and systems, improving workflows, pipelines, and game subsystems

• Work with ML engineers and researchers to maintain technical depth and identify where ML meaningfully complements game development

• Manage and develop engineers and researchers; provide clarity, support growth, and enable meaningful delivery

Requirements

• 10+ years of AAA game development and/or technical leadership in game technology, engineering leadership, or senior technical production

• Strong practical understanding of Unreal Engine and complex game production workflows, tools, pipelines, and performance/technical constraints

• Ability to provide technical direction for ML initiatives and ensure practical improvements in how games are built, iterated, and experienced

• Credibility with senior engineers and researchers; ability to ask strong technical questions and guide pragmatic decisions

• Basic understanding of ML/AI concepts and willingness to deepen knowledge in game-development context

• Ability to work with ML engineers and researchers without being a deep ML expert

• Good judgment on when to use ML vs classical engineering/tooling/automation/process change

• Experience managing/leading highly technical people and cross-functional technology teams

• Ability to support growth via expectations, feedback, coaching, prioritization, and regular 1:1s

• Strong communication skills to connect engineering, research, production, QA, and other stakeholders around shared goals

• Relocation required for hybrid/full-time in-office work in Warsaw, Poland
