Description

Build and evolve a platform for optical network inventory and automation of cross-connect connections, including integrations with optical switches (OCS) and a proxy-based infrastructure. You will develop a TypeScript web application and REST APIs (TMF-639), implement automation for network operations (in an IP and DWDM context), and maintain Rocky Linux proxy systems with security and compliance controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop the network inventory and cross-connect automation platform using TypeScript, Astro (SSR), Bun, Tailwind CSS, and PostgreSQL

• Extend REST APIs aligned with TMF-639 and build integrations with other systems and OCS optical switches

• Develop and maintain a proxy service that forwards cross-connect setup commands from the platform to OCS switches

• Implement network automation features specific to IP networking and DWDM

• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and container-based deployment with Docker/Podman and Kubernetes

• Configure and secure Rocky Linux virtual machines used as the proxy, including system updates

• Configure OS security mechanisms: SSH, SELinux, firewalld, TLS

• Set up auditing and logging and verify compliance against CIS benchmarks and DISA STIG using OpenSCAP

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience programming with TypeScript and Node.js or Bun

• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL

• Experience designing/developing REST APIs and integrating with other systems

• Experience with Git

• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, and Ansible

• Basic understanding of computer networking, especially TCP/IP and VLAN

• General understanding of DWDM and how optical network infrastructure works

• Basic Linux administration experience (Rocky Linux or RHEL) including security topics such as SELinux, firewalld, and SSH

• Advanced English (C1) for daily communication in an international environment
