Chief Forward Deployed Engineer

Senior • Remote

Warsaw, Poland

Quick Facts

  • Builder role for AI-native solutions centered on LLMs and the agent “harness”
  • End-to-end ownership: design, build, ship, evaluate, and observe
  • Client-facing collaboration with SMEs and end-users; English C1 required

Description

We are looking for a Chief Forward Deployed Engineer to build AI-native systems where LLMs and their harness are the core of the value. You and your team will create agentic systems (agents, workflows, RAG), write production code, and stand up evaluation and observability. You will work with SMEs and end-users to understand real value, design feedback loops, and validate fit to how people actually work.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship AI-native systems end-to-end: agents, workflows, RAG, and the harness (tool calling, sandboxing, context engineering, sub-agents, caching, compaction)
  • Build evaluation pipelines and use them to prove the system is genuinely useful
  • Design for failure in the agent loop (retries, model fallbacks, cost limits, human-in-the-loop for consequential actions)
  • Capture domain expertise and repeatable workflows so what works can be reused across engagements
  • Engage early to shape the use case and check technical feasibility
  • Write production-grade Python for integrations, APIs, data access, and deployment
  • Interview SMEs and end-users, run UAT, observe real workflows, and validate the system matches real working processes

Requirements

  • 7+ years of engineering experience with strong recent production track record in AI/LLM applications
  • Strong agent-design judgment and ability to match the harness to context, failures, and policies
  • Ability to operate close to the client: lead discovery and feasibility conversations and communicate trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with major LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini)
  • Expert-level Python and strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Strong RAG and retrieval skills (vector databases, embeddings, hybrid search, re-ranking, chunking, context management)
  • Proven experience evaluating generative AI quality (LLM-based evaluation, heuristics, custom eval frameworks) and using observability/tracing tools
  • Production deployment experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP with containerization and CI/CD
  • Sound judgment under ambiguity (scoping, sequencing, speed vs. quality vs. scope)
  • English at C1 level

Benefits

  • Hybrid work model by design, with opportunity to work remotely within Poland
  • Chance to work abroad for up to 60 days annually; business-driven relocation opportunities
  • Career development programs; mentoring and soft skills/well-being programs
  • Certifications (Anthropic, Gemini, GCP, Azure, AWS) and English classes
  • Stable pay; Employee Stock Purchase Plan with 15% discount
  • Benefits package (health insurance, multisport, shopping vouchers)
  • Referral bonuses up to $2,000
  • Office benefits (entertainment/relaxation zones, table tennis/football, free snacks and coffee)
  • Corporate, social, and well-being events
  • Benefits apply to employees only; contractors via B2B agreements; outreach to selected candidates only
