Description

Own the architecture of mission-critical backend systems for a biometric authentication platform supporting millions of transactions. Build high-end backend services that can analyze data in real time at scale, with strong emphasis on security, performance, and resilience. Use AI-driven delivery practices while maintaining deep engineering understanding of what happens under the hood.

Responsibilities

• Provide full architectural ownership of mission-critical backend services

• Shape the product through technical decisions and end-to-end problem ownership

• Design and optimize backend data access and performance across SQL/NoSQL systems

• Develop and maintain REST APIs using modern web communication patterns

• Define backend testing strategies and drive continuous quality improvements

• Support technical decisions across the stack when needed (React is a plus)

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building digital products as a Backend Engineer or similar role

• Deep knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript

• Extensive hands-on experience with Node.js (NestJS)

• In-depth understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance optimization

• Deep understanding of HTTP and REST APIs

• Extensive experience with backend testing approaches and tools

• Strong communication skills in English and Polish
