Description

You will own and build backend systems that power AI image and video generation on a platform for creating realistic images and videos of users or AI characters. The work focuses on reliable services for asynchronous generation jobs—queues, retries, error handling, and idempotency—plus ongoing improvements to performance, observability, testing, and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs supporting AI character creation and image/video generation

• Design data models and backend architecture for a growing product and increasing workloads

• Implement reliable background processing workflows (queues, retries, error handling)

• Ensure generation jobs run safely and efficiently, preventing duplicate processing and unnecessary costs

• Improve automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release practices for safer deployments

• Monitor production systems, investigate incidents, and improve performance, reliability, and observability

• Take ownership of built systems and evolve their architecture as the platform grows

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience

• Strong experience with Go and PostgreSQL

• Experience building and operating production backend systems

• Understanding of asynchronous processing, job queues, workers, retries, and idempotency

• Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and production incidents

• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and safe deployment practices

• Ability to take ownership of systems and make sound technical decisions
