Description

Lead the design team and shape how design is practiced across products and customer experience. Own the design roadmap and quality standards, increase user-centric UX maturity, and drive the transition to an AI-accelerated design workflow. Partner with product, engineering, and marketing while representing design in executive discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design team (hiring, performance, wellbeing, career progression, and designer education)
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and marketing; represent design with the executive team
• Define how to measure UX maturity, report results to leadership, and act on insights
• Lead design’s transition to AI-accelerated daily practice and guide how designers use AI
• Own design craft, quality standards, and coherence of the experience across products and services
• Own the design roadmap alongside product and marketing roadmaps
• Make company-wide design decisions, set standards, and raise issues when standards are not met

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in UX, UI, or product design, including 3+ years in a design leadership role
• Proven ability to build and lead a design team (hiring, performance management, career development)
• Strong design craft demonstrated by portfolio/case studies and the ability to set and defend quality standards
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in design work and a well-reasoned view of AI’s strengths and limits
• Ability to align with or lead Developer Experience (DX) for B2B/B2D products for both human users and AI agents
• Ability to justify design decisions using qualitative and quantitative user research
• Proven ability to influence and negotiate at executive level
• Belief that good design serves a deeper purpose beyond aesthetics
