Description

Build and optimize highly distributed, large-scale services for AWS DynamoDB, focusing on efficient routing of customer requests across thousands of machines while delivering low-latency, high-throughput performance. You will own the end-to-end engineering lifecycle—from requirements gathering and architecture through implementation, reviews, incremental feature launches, and operations. The role also emphasizes mentorship, continuous improvement, and contributing to engineering knowledge through patents and external publications.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, develop, manage, optimize, and re-imagine highly distributed, large-scale services

• Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design

• Be hands-on in day-to-day development; participate in design reviews, code reviews, and implementation

• Deliver quality features on time and on budget, executing against project plans

• Contribute to intellectual property through patents and external publications

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) for new and existing systems

• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience

• 1+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl

• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
