Description

Lead development of the CUDA compiler front end to enable developers and AI agents to generate correct, high-performing GPU code. Build compiler language features and improve diagnostics, implementing CUDA C++ language extensions including parsing, semantic analysis, and code generation to IR, with opportunities to contribute across the wider compiler stack (LLVM optimizer, code generation, MLIR).

Responsibilities

• Build compiler capabilities that help AI agents generate high-performing, high-quality GPU code
• Improve front-end diagnostics and compiler feedback for developers and AI agents
• Design and implement CUDA C++ language features/extensions (parsing, semantic analysis, code generation to IR)
• Track and implement evolving C++ standards features within the CUDA programming model
• Contribute across compiler stack areas including optimization, back end, and MLIR
• Collaborate with compiler, library, and developer tools teams to deliver robust solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of relevant work or research experience in compiler development
• Hands-on production experience with a production C/C++ compiler front end (e.g., Clang or GCC)
• Strong understanding of C++ including templates, overload resolution, and modern C++ standards
• Strong C/C++ programming and software design skills
• Ability to work independently and drive complex engineering efforts to production
• Solid interpersonal skills and cross-team collaboration
