Description

You will review the effectiveness of existing security controls in IT and OT environments, identify potential attack paths, and help prevent exploitation. The role includes conducting penetration tests, researching new attack methods and tools, and advising business areas as a cybersecurity expert for energy assets. You will also report newly found OT/IoT product vulnerabilities to manufacturers and communicate security findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct penetration tests primarily on OT components, embedded systems, SCADA, control devices, and industrial networks, as well as on IT components

• Identify attack paths and assess the current technical security level across group companies

• Research new attack methods and tools and test them in a controlled manner

• Advise and support specialist teams and companies as a cybersecurity expert for energy plants

• Identify new vulnerabilities in the OT/IoT products used and report them to the respective manufacturers

Requirements

• Completed degree in IT security, computer science, electrical engineering, automation, or equivalent qualification or relevant work experience

• Several years of relevant professional experience in independently performing technical security analyses and penetration tests

• Strong expertise and interest in vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and bypassing common security technologies and measures, especially with a focus on OT, IoT, or hardware

• Knowledge of automation and networking

• German and English proficiency (written and spoken)

• Strong ethics and knowledge of applicable standards and norms

• Willingness to travel and to carry out security reviews for preventive personnel sabotage protection in business contexts
