Description

Define server architectures based on workload demand and customer requirements, translating them into detailed component specifications. Drive validation from PCBA bring-up through server and rack integration, triaging failures and performing root cause analysis across power, memory, PCIe, and accelerator interconnects. Own post-launch fleet quality metrics and use operational telemetry to drive design and process improvements for current and next platforms.

Role Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design: create server architectures and component specifications; lead design reviews covering schematics, layouts, BOM, and manufacturing DFx
• Validation & Bring-up: plan and execute validation from EVT/DVT/PVT builds through rack integration; correlate failures across subsystem boundaries
• Fleet Quality & Continuous Improvement: track annualized failure rates and component-level failure modes; drive corrective actions based on telemetry
• Cross-Team Collaboration: align with EC2 architecture teams; lead ODM/JDM partners through milestones and production ramp; ensure designs are debuggable and automation-ready

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
• Experience in server technologies (thermal, mechanical, power, signal integrity)
• 5+ years of hardware design and development experience for servers/compute/large-scale infrastructure
• Experience leading hardware development through full lifecycle (concept through production ramp)
