Description

Design and evolve a secure infrastructure architecture that supports AI/ML solutions and AI systems. Define security standards and patterns (Zero Trust, least privilege, defense in depth, secure-by-design), perform technical security reviews and threat modeling, and create automated security guardrails through Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD. Provide technical leadership and mentoring for security architecture and integration of network, cloud, and AI security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate long-term with an international medical-industry organization.

• Architect and develop secure infrastructure for AI/ML solutions.

• Define security standards for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.

• Design secure communication between applications, AI services, models, APIs, and data platforms.

• Establish Zero Trust and least-privilege policies at infrastructure and network levels.

• Analyze architectures for attack vectors and design technical security mechanisms.

• Run technical security reviews for infrastructure and platform designs.

• Partner with Cloud, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Network, Security Engineering, Data, and AI/ML teams.

• Build security guardrails and automate standards via Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD.

• Support selection and integration of network security, cloud security, and AI security technologies.

• Lead security architecture efforts and mentor other architects and engineers.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure security and network security.

• Experience designing secure cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

• Strong knowledge of AI Gateway.

• Good knowledge of security in Kubernetes and container platforms.

• Understanding of Identity & Access Management (workload identity, service-to-service authentication, secrets management).

• Experience applying Zero Trust, least privilege, defense in depth, and secure-by-design.

• Skills in performing security reviews and threat modeling for infrastructure and platforms.

• Enterprise architecture experience with deep technical understanding (firewall/gateway configuration and network flows).

• Experience driving technical architectural decisions and collaborating across engineering teams.

• Understanding of AI/ML infrastructure security needs (host-model security, secure inference communication, secure AI APIs, workload isolation, access control to models/data, integration with enterprise systems, risks of external AI models).

• English proficiency: B2 or C1.

• Willingness to travel to the client office in Germany once every 6 months for 3–4 days.

• Preferred availability ASAP; acceptable notice up to one month effective end of month.
