Description

You will design, develop, and maintain automated validation tests that verify laboratory data conversions. The role includes building Python tools for data validation, automating functional/regression/smoke/UAT tests, and analyzing test results to find defects and root causes. Emphasis is on data accuracy, traceability, and high regulatory-quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated validation tests using Robot Framework

• Create Python libraries/tools to validate data in JSON, CSV, XML, and XLS/XLSX

• Verify correct conversion of laboratory data into Allotrope Simple Model (ASM) JSON

• Automate checks for schemas, field mappings, semantics, and formatting

• Run functional, regression, smoke, and UAT tests

• Analyze results to identify mismatch causes and defects

• Use SQL, DuckDB, and Parquet to analyze test data and monitor quality trends

• Prepare test reports, defect summaries, and validation documentation

• Maintain and improve CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions and container environments

• Collaborate with technical and business teams; participate in test reviews and defect analysis/support

• Ensure traceability of tests and validation outcomes with appropriate evidence and documentation

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years in software testing/quality engineering/test automation

• At least 2 years validating data or testing data-driven solutions

• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with Robot Framework

• Strong Python with ability to build custom test libraries/tools

• Practical SQL experience for analyzing and reconciling data

• Experience validating data and mapping across different file formats

• Knowledge/experience with regression testing, defect analysis, and root-cause finding

• Experience working with Git and CI/CD

• Analytical thinking and problem-solving from data

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Attention to detail, documentation quality, and reliability
