Analytics Engineer

Senior • Hybrid • On-site • Remote

755,872,000 - 910,832,000 USD/yr

Prague, Czechia

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a talented Analytics Engineer to join our growing data team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our data pipelines, transforming raw data into structured data models, working with business stakeholders to generate actionable insights, and empowering data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with data analysts, machine learning engineers and business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or similar role

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Engineering, Economics or a related field

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases

  • Familiarity with AI development tools such as Claude Code or Codex

  • Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling

  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouses, specifically Google BigQuery

  • Experience with data visualization tools, preferably Looker

  • Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation

  • Understanding of data modeling principles and best practices

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git)

Preferred:

  • Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g. AWS).

  • Familiarity with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data deployments

  • Understanding of data governance and data security principles

Who this role isn't for:

  • Lone wolves: If you prefer to write code in a silo, this won't be a fit. You will frequently collaborate with data analysts, machine learning engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and transform data into actionable insights.

  • Pure technologists averse to business context: This is not a role for someone who just wants to build pipelines without understanding the "why." A key measure of your success will be your ability to translate specific business needs into high-quality data solutions.

  • Legacy system maintainers: If you are looking for a highly predictable environment maintaining static, legacy infrastructure, this role will likely frustrate you. You will be actively designing, building, and scaling robust models using modern tools like dbt, Python, and cloud data warehouses.

  • Those looking to avoid documentation: If you view documentation as an afterthought, this isn't the right match. You will be expected to actively champion clean data by creating and maintaining essential data dictionaries, definitions, and lineage.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and models using SQL, dbt, Python and BigQuery

  • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand requirements, transform raw data into structured models and generate insights

  • Ensure data quality and integrity through testing, validation, monitoring, and documentation

  • Create and maintain documentation including data dictionaries, definitions, and lineage

  • Contribute to development and optimization of dashboards and reporting in Looker

  • Develop and support an agentic-first development experience and analytics platform

  • Participate in code reviews and uphold team engineering standards

  • Stay informed about data and analytics engineering best practices and suggest opportunities for technical and process improvements

  • Collaborate closely with the broader data and analytics team, maintaining regular regional working hours while occasionally syncing with international team members on major initiatives.

  • Participate in our on-call rotations and help actively resolve infrastructure incidents.

How you’ll be measured:

  • Accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of data pipelines and models

  • Reliability and accessibility of transformed data for business teams

  • Contributions to team knowledge sharing, code quality, and documentation

  • Proactive collaboration with analysts, engineers, and product stakeholders

  • Ability to translate business needs into high-quality data solutions

How you’ll make a difference:

As an Analytics Engineer at Custom Ink, you will play a key role in turning raw data into trusted insights that power decisions across marketing, product, operations, and beyond. Your work will ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and actionable, helping the organization move faster and smarter. By championing clean, well-modeled, and well-documented data, you’ll unlock the full potential of analytics across the company and make a tangible impact on our customers, teammates, and growth.
