Description

As AI agents perform more actions on behalf of users, this role focuses on ensuring every action is authorized, auditable, and safe. You will design, build, and operate authorization policies, enforcement mechanisms, and audit systems for Amazon Quick interactions initiated by humans or AI agents. This work enables enterprise-ready scaling of agentic capabilities while shaping industry approaches to access control for agentic AI.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement authorization policies, enforcement mechanisms, and audit pipelines to ensure correct access decisions for human and agent interactions.
  • Lead architecture of distributed access-control systems balancing scalability, security, and maintainability, and resolve risks before production.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to align integration points, define service contracts, and keep access controls current as agentic capabilities evolve.
  • Evaluate and integrate generative AI tooling into development workflows and apply responsible review practices for AI-generated outputs.
  • Mentor and grow engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and technical coaching.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
  • 5+ years programming with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years leading design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • Preferred: 5+ years full SDLC experience covering coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
