Description

In this role you will develop and maintain cloud services and data platforms for dm stores, from collecting in-store sensor data to scalable cloud platforms and AI-supported data services. You’ll build backend services and stable REST/GraphQL interfaces, automate deployments and infrastructure with Infrastructure-as-Code, and help integrate AI/genAI services when needed. The work applies Data Mesh principles to create reusable, scalable data product services.

Responsibilities

• Independently deliver development and maintenance of cloud services and data platforms (preferably on GCP)
• Build data products using Data Mesh concepts (decentralized ownership; data products treated as standalone services)
• Design and implement backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs for system integrations
• Automate deployments and infrastructure with Infrastructure-as-Code and contribute to reusable pipelines
• Integrate AI/genAI services when required (e.g., LLM API) with data-driven applications
• Ensure high code and data quality via testing, code review, monitoring, and Continuous Integration
• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams and business areas

Requirements

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Applied IT, STEM/engineering, or equivalent technical education
• Minimum 3 years of commercial/project experience in Software Engineering or Data Engineering, including independent solution delivery
• Practical experience with GCP (preferred) or AWS
• Experience with data products and Data Mesh principles; good understanding of scalable reusable data services
• Excellent Python knowledge
• Comfortable with Git, CI/CD, testing, and Code Review
• Polish plus English or German communication at least B2 level
