Description

You will support the development and maintenance of data-driven, containerized backend services and cloud applications for dmBrands. The engagement covers everything from concept to production support (“You build it, you run it”) and includes CI/CD design with stable, secure, repeatable deployments. The position focuses on software engineering quality: automated testing, monitoring/logging, and modern tooling for maintainable delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain containerized backend services and data-driven applications, from concept to production support

• Provide expertise in CI/CD pipeline design with emphasis on stable, secure, repeatable deployments

• Advise on containerization and automated, repeatable cloud deployments using Docker and Kubernetes (or other approaches as needed)

• Ensure service quality via unit, integration, and E2E tests, monitoring, logging, and meaningful metrics

• Improve code quality through code review (PRs, self-review, Conventional Commits) and provide technical feedback

• Collaborate with development, operations, and business teams; document architectural decisions and recommend improvements to processes and tools

Requirements

• Polish (C1) and English and/or German (minimum B2)

• Several years of software engineering experience with a significant DevOps component, including independent delivery

• Practical DevOps knowledge: CI/CD, Docker containerization, and Kubernetes deployment

• Very good Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge

• Experience building backend services and REST/GraphQL interfaces

• Experience with AI-assisted developer tools (e.g., Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot) with conscious use regarding code quality and security

• Strong emphasis on quality code and an established testing culture

• Openness to continuous improvement and interest in cloud, DevOps, and data topics
