Senior Design Engineer (React/TypeScript)

Senior • On-site

155 - 165 PLN/yr

Warsaw, Poland

Quick Facts

  • Role: Senior Design Engineer (React/TypeScript)
  • Focus: UX ownership from requirements to prototype plus hands-on front-end technical leadership
  • Key outcomes: Enterprise-grade, accessible, responsive portal experiences

Description

You will act as the design and front-end technical lead for a hybrid role that combines UX ownership (requirements-to-prototype, design system governance) with senior React/TypeScript engineering leadership. You will translate ambiguous business requirements into validated, high-fidelity prototypes and then lead and code alongside the team to deliver pixel-accurate, accessible portal UI. You will partner with backend/API teams, mentor developers, and ensure design and code quality through reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Own the requirements-to-prototype pipeline (discovery with stakeholders, wireframes, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity designs).
  • Define and enforce UI/UX standards, interaction patterns, and design system usage across applications.
  • Architect and build key React/TypeScript components and shared UI libraries.
  • Review pull requests and provide actionable feedback on design fidelity and code quality.
  • Partner with backend/API teams to ensure front-end designs are technically feasible.
  • Drive WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance and responsive design across all portal screens.
  • Conduct usability testing/validation and iterate designs using feedback and analytics.
  • Mentor mid-level UI/UX developers on design thinking and React best practices.
  • Participate in architecture/design governance reviews as the portal design owner.

Requirements

  • Expert proficiency with design/prototyping tools (e.g., Figma), including component libraries and design systems.
  • Strong hands-on React.js and TypeScript experience (component architecture, state management, hooks).
  • Experience converting designs into responsive, accessible, production-quality UI.
  • Familiarity with containerized environments and modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong stakeholder management, including the ability to defend design decisions to business and engineering audiences.
  • Experience reviewing code and providing technical and design feedback.

Benefits

  • Hybrid role combining UX leadership and hands-on front-end engineering.
  • Opportunity to lead design system governance and set technical precedent through key components and shared UI libraries.
  • Collaborative work with backend/API teams to deliver enterprise-grade portal experiences.
