Description

You will help define and specify the behavior of advanced 5G radio network features, with a focus on Radio Resource Management and Physical Layer algorithms. The work includes performing system studies, creating network-level software simulations for 5G performance analysis, supporting verification with test-result analysis, and driving improvements to products and simulation tools. You will also support customer troubleshooting and the deployment of new 5G products and features, while contributing to 5G standards for 6G readiness.

Responsibilities

• Perform system studies in Radio Resource Management (e.g., Scheduling, Link Adaptation, time-critical communication, control channel radio resource management)

• Specify system features and functions, including test cases, algorithms, use cases, parameter settings, and interactions with legacy features

• Develop network-level software simulations for performance analysis of 5G features and algorithms

• Drive continuous improvements of products, simulation tools, and processes (feature flow)

• Lead solution package (SP) studies and participate in system trouble report activities

• Support 5G system verification and analyze test results

• Support deployment of new 5G products and features into customer networks

• Conduct customer troubleshooting and analysis; understand customer configurations and issues

• Contribute to advances in 5G standards with 6G readiness

• Support innovation and IPR activities (invention disclosures and patents)

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent knowledge

• Background in communications theory and digital signal processing

• Good knowledge of 5G NR mobile communication systems, especially Physical Layer and Radio Resource Management

• Product development knowledge (preferably including Lean and Agile methods)

• Software development skills to build/use simulators (Java, C, C++)

• Knowledge of simulation environments and tools such as MATLAB is an asset

• Analytical approach with interest in innovation and creativity
