Create custom schematics for electrical panels, field wiring, and pneumatic/fluid systems in EPLAN, and implement safety controls for robot and high-volume manufacturing equipment in line with national codes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to procure equipment, manage documentation/BOMs, and support commissioning and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in equipment conceptual development (balancing specs, process needs, layout complexity, cost, component selection, and lead times)

  • Perform power distribution panel sizing calculations (e.g., FLA, SCCR)

  • Design and implement electrical, pneumatic, and fluid schematics per applicable national codes and standards

  • Build reliable safety control systems for robots, gantries, conveyors, and related manufacturing equipment

  • Select and size electrical and electromechanical components (servos, sensors, valve manifolds, protection devices, power supplies, etc.)

  • Convert layouts/designs into fabrication & installation drawings and other documentation (including BOMs and build instructions)

  • Manage BOMs and support fabrication/installation and commissioning with electrical/controls support

  • Support continuous improvement by incorporating new techniques and creating/maintaining design specifications/standards

  • Modify existing equipment to improve OEE and support new products

  • Work with internal/external vendors and support project management and standard adherence (including travel up to 15%)

  • Experience designing electrical schematics for panels and field wiring in AutoCAD or EPLAN

  • Hands-on experience working on the design and build of industrial automation equipment

  • Strong knowledge of electrical design compliance across regions and national codes/standards (e.g., UL508A, NFPA79, NEC)

  • Proficiency in pneumatic circuit design and network topology

  • Proficiency in sizing and selecting components such as overcurrent protection devices, power supplies, servo drives and motors, VFDs, PLCs, network switches, PDBs, terminal blocks, wire/cable, sensors, safety relays, IO blocks, and valve manifolds

  • Experience creating and maintaining project documentation and fabrication techniques (drawings, BOMs, build instructions, manufacturing data exports, reports)

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent experience

Benefits

  • Significant responsibility and high-impact work in a fast-paced environment

  • Continuous on-the-job learning and opportunity to advise cross-functional peers
