Description

You’ll develop and evolve the backend of a warehouse and shuttle automation platform, building scalable, high-performance microservices using C#/.NET and Microsoft Orleans. The role combines architecture and integration work with messaging, logging, eventing, and service communication frameworks, and includes delivering customer-specific requirements from concept through go-live. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Owner(s), QA, and other engineering teams while participating in CI/CD and quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, performant microservices in C#/.NET with Microsoft.Orleans for the warehouse and shuttle backend

• Co-design and advance an internal framework for messaging, logging, eventing, and service communication

• Implement customer-specific requirements for warehouse automation projects (analysis, solution design, implementation)

• Design and implement architectures, interfaces, and integrations with software and automation components

• Perform software, integration, and system testing; support commissioning, stabilization, and go-live with customers

• Conduct code reviews, ensure quality, follow coding guidelines, and standardize reusable solutions

• Provide expert support and mentor junior developers

• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, and other teams (Shuttle, Stations, IT)

• Participate in DevOps and CI/CD processes (e.g., GitHub Actions, Nuke, Docker, SonarCloud)

Requirements

• Multi-year professional experience in C#/.NET software development

• Solid experience with microservices and distributed systems

• Experience conceiving and evolving software architectures, interfaces, and technical solutions

• Experience implementing software in customer projects

• Confident with Git plus practical CI/CD and Docker experience

• Confident with REST interfaces and solid understanding of distributed service integration and communication

• Good understanding of Clean Code, software quality, and maintainable architectures

• Ability to make informed technical decisions, explain them clearly, and drive them within the team

• Very good German and English skills (C1 or higher)

• Willingness to travel to customer locations for integration, commissioning, and go-live (~15%)
