Description

You will help design and implement an end-to-end solution for collecting and processing data from laboratory instruments, creating backend integration services and REST APIs. The work centers on building research infrastructure that connects instruments, data storage, repositories, and compute platforms—supporting modern, high-impact life sciences research. You will help shape the platform’s architecture and gradually take ownership of key components.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end solutions for data collection and processing from laboratory instruments

  • Integrate heterogeneous systems (instruments, databases, storage, research platforms)

  • Design and maintain data models for experimental data and metadata

  • Develop backend integration services and REST APIs

  • Propose solutions to ensure reliable and consistent data transfer between systems

  • Contribute to the architecture and evolution of the research data platform

  • Work with large volumes of experimental data (typically tens to hundreds of TB per year)

Requirements

  • Practical programming knowledge of Python

  • Good knowledge of Linux

  • Experience designing or implementing data pipelines and/or integration solutions

  • Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB) and SQL

  • Experience with REST API development

  • Understanding of data storage approaches (NAS, NFS, S3-compatible storage)

  • Experience with Git

  • Practical knowledge of Bash (PowerShell experience is beneficial for Windows-based lab devices)

  • Ability to analyze technical problems and propose solutions

  • English level enabling work with technical documentation and communication with suppliers/vendors
