Description

You will take ownership of the Data Quality area for a key data processing platform. The job is centered on finding and fixing data quality problems at scale (primarily by investigating cohorts in BigQuery) and building solutions to prevent recurrence without impacting production performance. You will work with an experienced engineering team and have space to propose improvements and shape the approach.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and eliminate data quality issues

• Build offline remediation tooling and automated checks

• Reduce the backlog of existing data quality issues and shift toward proactive detection/prevention

• Design data quality mechanisms that avoid performance impact on production

• Support a statistical, validation-based approach (not “green test” gating)

Requirements

• Strong SQL skills and genuine curiosity about data

• Ability to investigate data issues using BigQuery and fix them at scale

• JVM backend capability (Kotlin/Java) to build remediation tooling and checks

• Data quality and observability mindset (monitors, data tests, anomaly detection)

• High ownership and autonomy; scope vague/undefined tickets and deliver

• Comfort working with legacy systems and ambiguity

• Fluent English; direct collaboration with a US team while working remotely
