Description

Build system software for on-prem private clouds to deliver a converged appliance platform that enables VCF to converge onto a single appliance model. You will design and implement enhancements and new capabilities in VCF and related areas, including systems-level programming (Java, Go, Python) and full-stack development with REST APIs. You’ll also participate in service ownership—monitoring, alert automation, triaging, fixing issues to improve SLOs—and join an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and technical leads to develop system software per design and architecture specifications

• Deliver a converged appliance platform for VCF convergence

• Design and implement enhancements and new capabilities in VCF and related areas

• Perform systems-level programming in Java, Go, and Python

• Build full-stack features, including REST APIs

• Own services end-to-end: monitoring, alert automation, triage, fixes, and SLO improvements

• Participate in on-call rotation and provide operational support

• Work on management, control, and data plane improvements

• Apply test-driven development to produce high-quality code

• Improve and maintain CI pipelines for your components

• Perform code reviews and enforce coding guidelines

• Measure, analyze, and tune performance and scalability

• Develop reusable, flexible code shared across multiple components across operating systems/hypervisors

• Respond to customer issues and interact with customer support and the release team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related experience; post-graduate degree typically expected at this level

• OR 6+ years of related experience with a post-graduate degree typically expected

• OR PhD with 3+ years of related experience
