Description

Backend QA Engineer for a long-term B2B contract supporting the development of platforms and systems for managing electric vehicle charging-station networks. You will analyze technical requirements, create test scenarios and cases, and perform manual backend, API, and microservice testing (functional, integration, system, and regression). You will verify REST APIs against OpenAPI/Swagger, test authentication and authorization (including OAuth2), validate event-driven asynchronous flows, and support defect diagnosis using observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze technical requirements/specifications and prepare test scenarios and test cases
• Plan and execute manual tests for backend, APIs, and microservices (functional, integration, system, regression)
• Test REST APIs and verify compliance with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation
• Validate authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth2 and access control
• Test asynchronous communication, event-driven flows, and message queues/brokers
• Verify data in relational and NoSQL databases and other storage systems (e.g., AWS S3)
• Analyze logs and test results using observability tools (e.g., Grafana, OpenSearch)
• Support performance and load testing
• Report, monitor, and triage defects; collaborate with developers on diagnosis and fixes
• Collaborate with developers, Product Owner, and QA team to ensure adequate test coverage
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to API/backend test automation development
• Use AI tools to improve and speed up the testing process

Requirements

• 4+ years of software testing experience; at least 2 years in manual backend/API testing
• Very good knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Insomnia)
• Good REST API knowledge and ability to work with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation
• Experience testing microservice-based applications
• SQL knowledge to write queries and verify data in relational databases
• Basic knowledge of NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms including OAuth2 and token-based authorization
• Basic knowledge of asynchronous communication, event-driven systems, queues, and message brokers
• Experience analyzing logs and working with observability tools such as Grafana, OpenSearch, or Kibana
• Analytical thinking and strong attention to detail
• Very good communication and collaboration skills with development teams
