Description

Design, develop, and maintain automated backend and REST API tests in Java using REST Assured. Analyze technical requirements and specs, plan and execute testing in a microservices environment, and verify API behavior, business logic, and inter-service communication. Report defects, collaborate with developers, participate in code reviews, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated tests for backend and REST APIs in Java (REST Assured)
• Analyze requirements/specifications and independently plan test execution
• Identify risks and select appropriate testing approaches for microservices
• Execute automated and manual tests for backend, APIs, and service-to-service communication
• Validate API correctness, business logic, and microservices communication
• Analyze test results, report defects, and support developers in diagnosis
• Participate in code reviews and apply good programming practices (OOP, SOLID, KISS)
• Integrate tests into CI/CD processes and use Git for version control
• Lead QA scope for planning and running tests, supported by an experienced QA Automation Engineer

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of software testing experience, including Java test automation
• Very good Java skills and programming best practices (OOP, SOLID, KISS)
• Practical knowledge of REST Assured and experience automating backend and REST API tests
• Knowledge of test frameworks: JUnit or TestNG
• Good knowledge of Postman
• Experience testing APIs and microservices-based applications
• Knowledge of Git and CI/CD processes/tools
• Good knowledge of SQL databases
• Knowledge of SDLC and software testing processes
• Experience with code review
• Knowledge of manual testing
• Independence, responsibility, and proactive attitude
• Excellent communication and collaboration with development teams
• Advanced English (C1)
