• Role: Data Scientist (DISCO / Music Product & Tech)

Description

Lead the research and development of models and science products powering customer identity, acquisition, and retention strategies. Build predictive models (propensity, uplift, and causal inference), partner with marketing and growth leadership on subscriber segmentation and lifecycle programs, and use experimentation to measure incremental impact. Define success and guardrail metrics with product and data science partners and promote evidence-based decision making across growth programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D of customer identity, acquisition, and retention models and science products
• Develop science-driven growth strategies (subscriber segmentation, lifecycle management, upsell programs)
• Build predictive models to support targeted marketing and automate metric variance deep-dives
• Evaluate growth campaigns, features, and algorithmic interventions via rigorous experimentation
• Analyze experiment results and provide recommendations to optimize acquisition and retention
• Define, propose, and validate success and guardrail metrics for identity and growth programs
• Educate marketing and growth teams on analytics, measurement frameworks, and experimentation

Requirements

• 2+ years of data scientist experience
• 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g., SQL) or scripting/statistical software (e.g., Python, R, SAS, Matlab)
• 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis techniques and parameters affecting performance
• 1+ years working with or evaluating AI systems
• Experience applying theoretical models in applied environments
• Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts for reasoning and problem-solving
• Experience with Python, Perl, or another scripting language
• Experience in ML/data scientist roles at a large technology company
• Experience defining and creating benchmarks for GenAI model performance
• Experience on multi-team, cross-disciplinary projects
• Experience applying quantitative analysis to business problems and making data-driven decisions
• Strong written and verbal communication for complex concepts
