Description

Provide technical leadership for building and enhancing on-premises data warehouse solutions and accelerating migration to AWS, including Amazon Redshift. Lead the design and implementation of scalable, fault-tolerant data applications to store and process terabytes of data with high availability. Oversee development, testing, and production implementation across on-prem RDBMS platforms, Ab Initio, SQL, and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Understand and manage data needs of stakeholders within a business vertical
• Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant data applications on-prem and AWS for high-availability storage and processing
• Partner with information architects, platform architects, data scientists, and product management to define solution requirements
• Resolve problems by evaluating business processes, system processes, and enterprise standards
• Comply with data management policies, standards, and procedures
• Oversee design, development, testing, and production implementation using on-prem RDBMS platforms, Ab Initio, SQL, and AWS (Amazon Redshift)
• Lead the technical team to meet business goals and identify system/process enhancements
• Collaborate in a Scaled Agile framework with product and delivery stakeholders
• Engage with mid-level business partners and support inter-group planning
• Stay up to date on data engineering trends and best practices
• Use automation and innovative frameworks to reduce redundancy

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of technology experience in consumer banking, or High school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of technology experience, or completion of the Business Leadership Program
• Experience with large-scale relational databases and public cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• Strong ETL, data warehousing, AWS cloud technologies, and analytics concepts
• Hands-on engineering skills with on-prem RDBMS/data warehouse platforms, Ab Initio, advanced SQL, and AWS including Amazon Redshift
• Hands-on AWS experience with Amazon Redshift and related data services
• Experience with batch and real-time data pipelines in a DevOps environment
• Ability to work with globally located Agile teams across different shifts
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with technology and business stakeholders
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
• Must be 18+ and have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must pass drug test, background investigation, and submit fingerprints
• Must satisfy Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required; no visa sponsorship
• Internal applicants must meet time-in-position/performance expectations and have manager (and HR if needed) approval

Benefits

• Base salary range: $100,000–$170,000 USD annually (market-adjusted for CA, NY Metro, and Seattle)
