Description

Lead Finance Engineering to evolve financial systems for accounting, reconciliation, and a finance data platform into a data-centric architecture that integrates with best-in-class, off-the-shelf financial platforms. Own multi-year strategy and architecture, ensuring reliability, correctness, and compliance for systems of record, and grow managers and senior engineers. Help design for an agentic, AI-assisted future where AI agents may compose parts of the work.

Responsibilities

  • Own the multi-year strategy for Finance Engineering and translate Finance needs into a deliverable roadmap.
  • Lead the evolution of the technology and architecture roadmap, including build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Set and uphold the reliability, correctness, and compliance bar for auditor- and regulator-dependent systems of record.
  • Provide technical leadership as a peer to principal and staff engineers, and grow managers for the next phase.
  • Design the geographic workforce plan and drive hiring and succession.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of technical leadership experience, including 5+ years leading multiple teams within a domain.
  • Experience building and operating financial, data, or large distributed systems depended on by other teams and stakeholders.
  • Accounting, ledger, reconciliation, or payments systems experience is a big plus.
  • Technical depth to engage principal and staff engineers as a peer and to step in on hard problems.
  • Experience with engineering workforce planning and org design across geographies; ability to run a healthy org with appropriate oversight.
  • Comfort articulating clear technical opinions to executives and translating between business strategy and technical bets.
  • A point of view on agentic, AI-assisted impacts on finance systems and how you would build for it.
  • Strong security and compliance sensibility in a regulated industry (fintech, banking, or payments).
