Description

Build and maintain data pipelines that power analytics for vehicle service, maintenance, repair, warranty, and collision events. Use Apache Airflow for orchestration, Spark (PySpark/Scala) for transformations, Apache Iceberg for ACID-compliant data lake storage, and relational databases for SQL transformations. Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines, run data quality checks, and enable Tableau dashboard development with clean datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow to orchestrate workflows

  • Write Spark jobs for transformation, cleansing, and aggregation (PySpark or Scala)

  • Work with Apache Iceberg tables for reliable ACID data lake storage and schema evolution

  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and transformations in Vertica, SQL Server, and MySQL

  • Implement incremental loading patterns and CDC (change data capture)

  • Collaborate with data analysts, BI developers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements

  • Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability & performance

  • Perform data quality checks and maintain documentation of pipelines and data flows

  • Ensure clean, well-structured data is available for Tableau dashboard developers

  • Learn modern data engineering best practices and take on increasingly complex tasks

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field OR equivalent experience

  • Strong foundation in SQL (writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries)

  • Solid understanding of Python (used with Spark and Airflow)

  • Basic knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline patterns

  • Familiarity with at least one major relational database (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)

  • Eagerness to learn big data technologies and modern data lake formats

Expected Compensation

$120,000–$216,000 annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay may vary based on market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
