Description

The National Emergency Response Coordinator ensures the organization’s preparedness for emergencies and coordinates the Charity’s response in the Czech Republic and partially abroad. You will coordinate with relevant stakeholders (e.g., NGOs, crisis staffs, emergency services), develop strategies and procedures, manage the ES MIMO emergency database and related training, and support effective assistance to affected people.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Charity activities during emergencies (e.g., floods, tornadoes, etc.)
  • Collaborate and communicate with entities involved in aid (NGOs, crisis staffs, rescue services bodies, etc.)
  • Coordinate people, material, and financial resources to deliver emergency assistance
  • Build a network of Charity workers and collaborators for emergency deployments across the Czech Republic
  • Create strategies and procedures for the organization and regional Charities for emergency situations
  • Own the approach/process for handling emergencies
  • Represent the organization in the emergency area, including communication with the media
  • Work closely with the organization’s communications department
  • Administer the ES MIMO database, support Charities in its use, and ensure system functionality
  • Organize education/training (courses, drills, workshops) focused on emergency management, PPP, KI, and field work
  • Methodically lead and provide advisory support to diocesan coordinators
  • Participate in emergency committees/meetings and other expert platforms
  • Coordinate emergency assistance abroad during emergencies
  • Conceptually collaborate on and implement additional projects in the sector

Requirements

  • Minimum completed secondary education
  • Documented relevant experience and professionalism in emergency preparedness/response
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Comfort communicating with media and partners
  • General knowledge of aid principles, especially in the Czech Republic
  • Strong analytical abilities and ability to think conceptually
  • English communication proficiency
