Description

Drive and evolve the test strategy for web applications, including decisions on what to automate and at which layer. Plan and prioritize testing based on business risk, evaluate and select testing tools via PoCs, and monitor quality metrics to drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with developers, PMs, and DevOps to improve testability and communicate quality risks in business terms.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve test strategy (unit/API/E2E/visual vs. manual/exploratory)

  • Plan and prioritize testing based on business risk and quality trade-offs

  • Evaluate, select, and implement testing tools (frameworks, reporting, observability)

  • Monitor and improve quality metrics (flakiness, execution time, critical path coverage, escaped defects)

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to refine acceptance criteria and improve testability

  • Communicate quality risks; write RFCs, test plans, and post-mortems

Requirements

  • B2+ English fluency

  • 5+ years in software testing (manual and/or automated) for web applications

  • At least 2 years hands-on test automation

  • Hands-on expertise with Playwright and/or Cypress

  • Experience designing/maintaining CI/CD test pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar) including parallelization, sharding, reporting, and artifact management

  • API testing experience using Playwright request context, Postman, or similar; understanding when to test at API vs UI layer

  • Proficiency with test management tools (testomat.io, TestRail, Xray, Zephyr) and integrating them with automation

  • Strong Git workflows and code review practice; GitFlow experience

  • Comfort in Agile/Scrum; advocate for testability early and raise quality concerns

  • Assertiveness and ability to communicate quality risks

  • Ability to write clearly structured RFCs, test plans, and post-mortems
